The Halvenar Chronicles
Halvenar is the original fantasy world behind our novels and games. It has its own home now, with the books, the games, a traveller’s guide to Rivercross and free issues of the Rivercross Chronicle.
Twelve and sixty-two
I grew up in Mauriceville, Texas, a small town in the piney woods where State Highway 12 and State Highway 62 cross. Every trip anywhere started at that intersection. It's where you chose a direction.
This company works the same way. One road leads to practical IT work for businesses that need their technology to just work. The others lead to the apps and novels I build at night. All of them start from the same place.
Twelve 62 is based in Indiana, where I live and work today. The name is a reminder of where I started.

More stories are ready to follow the launch. Season One: After the Bell continues each hero's journey past Rookfall in three new chapters, and The Lamp in the Window is the first Tale of Halvenar: a winter night on Lamp Row in Rivercross, with a new hero, Wren Callow.

Every good has three lines: what it is, what it does, and what it costs.
You inherit your grandmother's run-down assay house on the Paper Stair in Rivercross. Merge unweighed goods from the Frays into named relics, fill orders for the street's regulars, and spend what you earn restoring the shop one painted corner at a time. Then a lamp comes in stamped with the mark of a house that burned ninety years ago.

Fraybound
A fast action game in the spell-brigade style. Each class carries a built-in cost: healers slow down, Kindled tools burn out, a Bannerguard who loses the banner loses the bonus.
The Rivercross Chronicle
A weekly broadsheet from Halvenar's river city, delivered inside the Hollow Bell app: Guild notices, songs from the road, and gossip from the bridges. Twenty-four issues are written so far, and six are free to read at halvenar.com.

The first deer passed close enough for Milo to feel the wind of it.
Milo Winby is an elf of Greenhollow with almost no natural magic and no great expectations. He has never earned a step up, and never asked for one. Then the forest runs. Animals pour past him, fleeing something nobody in the valley can name, and tracks begin to appear where they shouldn't.
What follows is a slow-burn fantasy about loyalty that has to be earned, a friendship that starts as a rivalry, and a young man who keeps failing forward because the people at the end of the road are counting on him.

Halvenar
